CNBC recently published an article titled "China’s lockdowns could trigger a logistics snarl that may ‘dwarf’ 2020 and 2021". While we are hopeful that is not quite the case, it is important for everyone in the electronics industry to pay attention to.

Buildings and facilities will need plenty of tools to assist with major operation changes in order to meet COVID-19 recovery requirements. Throughout the day, crowd levels will need to be actively monitored, the number of people allowed in may need to be limited (especially during busier times of day), and social distancing rules will need to be enforced.

COVID-19 has started many conversations about what we can all be doing as facility managers, business owners, and citizens in general to be prepared for major health threats in the future.  As we aim to reopen and readjust our facilities with employee and public safety in mind, having the cleanest touch surface solutions is critical.

As facilities in New York and around the country plan to reopen safely, it’s important to have a plan for frequent and effective large-scale cleaning solutions for your entire workplace.

Seasonal and unexpected school and campus shutdowns can be challenging to any team of maintenance staff. Most higher education institutions have experienced their fair share of deferred maintenance, but when facility managers aren’t able to provide preventive maintenance or secure needed upgrades to systems, roofing, plumbing, or the like, the problem gets worse. Ultimately, these maintenance delays will lead to an emergency that requires immediate intervention and can no longer be postponed. And more often than not, this prolonged problem will be much more expensive to fix!
